Paper/Colour balance:

All our products undergo strict quality control. We use 320gsm fine art textured rag to achieve the highest quality. We also use archival print processes.

All prints are printed with one inch border around the image. The size of the image stated on the website excludes the border. The sizes on the website are rounded to the nearest 5mm.

Each print is independently colour balanced, however individual monitor settings such as brightness, contrast, frequency, temperature, will also affect your colour accuracy. What all this boils down to is that images on your monitor will always look somewhat different than the final printed piece. To avoid any disappointment, please consider ordering a paper sample.

The papers and other materials used during the printing process may vary from, and they may affect final productions. Such discrepancies in product characteristics shall not form sufficient basis for defect.

Limited Editions:

ALTERart works closely with artists to offer limited edition prints, which means that you will not be able to acquire extra print of a specific size from any other source. Every print is individually hand signed and numbered by the artist, typically in pencil, in the form of “edition number1/number2”. Number1 is the number if the print, number2 is the number of prints available.

A small number of “artists’ proofs” may also be produced, these prints will be marked “H. C.” or “H/C”, meaning “hors de commerce”, not for sale.
