Course description:

Get off auto crash course 5 week course – during this course you will consider the basics of digital photographic image-making. You will be guided through the course, assistance will be offered to beginners, and more in depth advice to more experienced photographers.

You will be guided through initial recording of the images by using your DSLR on fully manual mode (aperture, shutter speed, ISO)

The course provides strong foundation for photography beginners, sharpening your skills and bettering your practice. You will be fully supported and will have the opportunity to develop your own personal practice.

The course is practice based with specific projects from week to week. Each class will include a crit session where you will be encouraged to share your photos and receive feedback, as well as form opinions about other students’ work.

Course content:

Week 1: Introduction to the course; shutter-speed

Week 2: Aperture and its relation to shutter speed, built-in light meter, correct exposure

Week 3: ISO; exposure tringle

Week 4: Depth of field; focal length;

Week 5: Basic rules of composition

Entry Requirements
This course is for beginners or photographers who have basic knowledge and wish to brush up on their skills.

Materials and Equipment
You will need a camera (DSLR or bridge), notepad, pen, and memory stick for every session. A DSLR camera is preferable but not essential.
